BSU Rector Elchin Babayev, met with the Head of the Anatolian University Libraries Consortium (ANKOS) of Türkiye, Ismail Cetinkaya.

Welcoming the guest, Rector Elchin Babayev emphasized the importance of digital resources in building a university that meets modern challenges and spoke about the innovations implemented at BSU in this direction in recent years. He noted that the BSU Scientific Library has served as a methodological center for university libraries in Azerbaijan for more than 50 years. Currently, 15 universities in the country are members of the Azerbaijan Library and Information Consortium (AzKIK), which operates under BSU. He stressed that establishing relations with influential international organizations and publishing houses in the field of library science contributes to the advancement of science and education at BSU.

ANKOS Head Ismail Cetinkaya highlighted that the international conference ANKOSLink, traditionally held annually, is a dynamic platform for tracking innovations in librarianship and publishing in Türkiye and the region, as well as for discussing challenges and proposing solutions. He underlined the important role of BSU, as the main center of scientific libraries in Azerbaijan, in the work of the conference.

The meeting also discussed further strengthening cooperation between the BSU Scientific Library, AzKIK, and ANKOS.
