Hi-Tech Park and Leading Universities Sign Strategic Cooperation Memorandum
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on strategic cooperation has been signed between the Hi-Tech Park (HTP) under the Ministry of Science and Education and the country's leading universities.
Under the agreement, starting in 2026, selected programs from the SABAH group in information technology, engineering, and science at Baku State University (BSU), Azerbaijan Technical University (ATU), and Azerbaijan State University of Oil and Industry (ASOIU) will be conducted at the SABAH.city campus, currently being developed within the HTP.
Ulker Sattarova, Director of the State Agency for Science and Higher Education, highlighted the ongoing efforts to expand the SABAH program in line with the presidential order on broadening the scope and funding of new educational initiatives in higher education. She emphasized the importance of collaboration with HTP in this direction within the SABAH.city innovation campus.
Following this, the rectors of BSU, ATU, and ASOIU—Elchin Babayev, Vilayat Veliyev, and Rufat Azizov—spoke about the ongoing SABAH programs at their respective universities. They underscored the necessity of adopting new approaches to enhance the quality of higher education.
Nikhat Majidov, Director General of the HTP, delivered a presentation on the collaboration between SABAH.city and universities. He stated that the project aims to improve education quality through modern infrastructure, an updated curriculum, an innovative student assessment system, and a highly qualified faculty.
Majidov further noted that the initiative—targeting both undergraduate and graduate students—seeks to foster a research- and innovation-driven environment. By establishing a leading academic ecosystem and integrating innovative educational models, the program aims to better prepare students for the demands of a rapidly evolving job market.
