Hungarian Ambassador and Rector of the University of Pannonia Visit BSU
A delegation led by Hungarian Ambassador Tamás József Torma and Rector of the University of Pannonia, János Abonyi, visited Baku State University (BSU).
Welcoming the guests, BSU Rector Elchin Babayev provided an overview of the university’s history, academic and research environment, and international partnerships. He noted that BSU is interested in expanding cooperation with Hungarian universities, signing memoranda of understanding, and developing dual degree programs. The rector highlighted the strong potential for joint research and academic collaboration with the University of Pannonia in the fields of chemistry, physics, biology, mathematics, psychology, and economics.
Ambassador Tamás József Torma emphasized that scientific and educational cooperation between Azerbaijan and Hungary has made a significant contribution to strengthening bilateral relations. He stated that establishing closer ties between Hungarian universities and BSU would open up broad opportunities for both sides.
Rector János Abonyi also underlined the importance of building institutional cooperation with BSU.
During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for student and faculty exchanges, joint research projects and conferences, as well as the development of dual degree programs in psychology, chemical engineering, and economics.
