On May 28-29, 2019, An International Conference on “İnter-University Cooperation for Open Science” was held in Bucharest, Romania. The event marked the 100th anniversary of Baku State University and was jointly organized by this university and the Black Sea Universities Network, University of Bucharest.
The conference was attended by Mircea Dumitru, rector of University of Bucharest, Huseyn Najafov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Romania, Ali Nagiyev, Vice-Rector for Strategic Development and Communications of  Baku State University, Luciano Saso, The President of The Network of Universities from the Capitals of Europe (UNICA), Eden Mamut, The Secretary General of the Black Sea Universities Network (BSUN) and Sergiy Belikov, Rector of Zaporizhia National Technical University (Ukraine).
Asaf Hajiyev, Secretary General of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (PABSEC) congratulated participants via videoconferencing.   
Opening plenary meeting, moderated by Ali Nagiyev, Vice-Rector for Strategic Development and Communications of Baku State University was dedicated to scientific collaboration, data exchange and other issues.
Each of the next sessions featured presentations by the scientists from University of Bucharest, Baku State University (BSU), Nakhichivan State University, Ukrainian Agrarian University, Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski" and other countries. In that regard, views were exchanged on the issues of the mutual interests.
Within the conference participants visited Parliament of Romania to meet PABSEC deputies.
A delegation comprising representatives of Baku State University Ali Nagiyev, Parvana Ibrahimova, Vafa Iskenderova and Vice-rector of NSU Rafik Rahimov visited park named after Heydar Aliyev to lay flowers on monument to National Leader of Azerbaijan.
Baku delegation visited Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Romania to meet Huseyn Najafov, Ambassador Extra ordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Romania and embassy staff.
