An international scientific-practical conference entitled "Cultural diversity: the world and Azerbaijan" has been held at Baku State University.  Speaking at the conference,  rector, academician Abel Maharramov  emphasized the fact that the conference  held within the framework of decree on ratification of the Action Plan in connection with the declaration of 2016 the Year of Multiculturalism in the Azerbaijan Republic.

More than 135 presentation from Azerbaijan, Turkey, Egypt, Russia, Belarus, Ukraine and Kazakhstan were made during the conference, including the presentations of BSU Professors Bakhtiyar Aliyev, Rabiyat Aslanova, Agalar Abbasbeyli and professor at Yildiz Technical University (Turkey) Mehmet Ozervarli.
