Internship Program Held for BSU and Bukhara Medical University Students
A scientific and practical internship program was organized for doctoral students of Bukhara Medical University, as well as master’s and Biotechnology students of the Faculty of Biology at Baku State University (BSU).
As part of the program, participants were introduced to the research conducted in the faculty’s laboratories. They received information about projects in molecular biology, biochemistry, genetic analysis, and plant biotechnology, and learned about laboratory equipment, sample preparation procedures, and the interpretation of analytical results.
Under the guidance of Roza Mamedova, a lecturer at the Department of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology, the participants also visited the Department of Biochemistry and the clinical laboratories of Azerbaijan Medical University. They were introduced to laboratory diagnostics, the application of molecular biological methods in medicine, and modern analytical systems. The barcode-based sample identification process and analysis procedures were demonstrated in the clinical diagnostic laboratory.
The program continued at the Research Institute of Crop Husbandry, where participants learned about the institute’s agrobiological research areas and laboratory analysis methods. During the visit, Ismail Hakki Taş, Director of Science and Innovation at QIAGEN, conducted practical training on the Glacial Advance capillary electrophoresis system and explained its operational and analytical capabilities.
