Iraqi ambassador to Azerbaijan Heydar Shiya Gubeysi al-Barrak has visited the Baku State University to meet its rector, MP, Academician Abel Maharramov. 
Mr. Maharramov highlighted the history of the University, as well as its international cooperation, and Azerbaijan – Iraq relations.
Heydar Shiya Gubeysi al-Barrak, in turn, praised the two countries` relations, adding his country was interested in teacher and student exchange and boosting cooperation with universities of Azerbaijan.
They also exchanged views on holding international conferences and symposiums on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations.
Following the meeting, the ambassador became familiar with the University`s facilities, including scientific research laboratories and centers.
