Japanese culture day was held at BSU

Japanese culture day was held at the Faculty of Oriental Studies. The event was jointly organized by the Department of Far Eastern Languages and Literatures of Baku State University and the Embassy of Japan to Azerbaijan.

Head of the department, Professor Oktay Dzhalilbeyli said that according to the cooperation agreement between Azerbaijan's Ismayilli and Japan's Ito cities signed on November 22, 2013 artists from İto visited Azerbaijan to conduct the events dedicated to Japanese culture day. Culture Day is a national holiday held annually in Japan for the purpose of promoting Japanese culture.

Artists from İto demonstrate the Japanese tea culture, Ikebana (Japanese art of flower arrangement), Calligraphy ( the art of beautiful writing ) and the proper way of wearing a Kimono (Japanese traditional garment).
