In order to commemorate 100th anniversary of the Baku State University, the Central Bank (CBA) issued silver jubilee coins with nominal value of 5 manats.

The weight of the coins is 1 Troy ounce, and their diameter is 38.61 mm. The jubilee coins are made at The Royal Mint of Great Britain on the basis of Pruf technology.

On the front side of the coin there is a description of the administrative building of the Baku State University, a quote and signature of national leader Heydar Aliyev, an 8-pointed star, national patterns and ornaments, and on the reverse side - the state emblem of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the denomination of the monetary sign. The jubilee coin is the official means of payment in the country at face value.
