Korean Diplomat Delivers Lecture at Baku State University
Kim Changsoo, Counselor of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea and Deputy Head of the Diplomatic Mission, delivered a lecture at Baku State University (BSU) on the topic "Korean-Azerbaijani Relations: Current State and Prospects."
During the lecture, Mr. Kim provided students with insights into the current status of relations between Azerbaijan and Korea. He highlighted the strong political, economic, and trade ties between the two countries, noting that Azerbaijan is Korea's largest and most significant economic and trade partner in the South Caucasus.
He also emphasized Korea’s role as one of the leading foreign investors in Azerbaijan’s non-oil sector. According to Mr. Kim, mutual visits by the heads of state have played a pivotal role in deepening bilateral cooperation, with several key agreements signed during these high-level exchanges.
The event was also attended by prominent BSU faculty members, including Dr. Aydan Khandan, Dean of the Faculty of Oriental Studies; Dr. Lachin Abyshov, Dean of the Faculty of International Relations and Economics; and Dr. Ogtay Jalilbeyli, Head of the Department of Far Eastern Languages and Literature. In their remarks, they underscored the importance of Azerbaijani-Korean collaboration in the fields of science and education. They also emphasized that such lectures serve as a valuable opportunity to raise students’ awareness of Korea and foster mutual understanding.
The event concluded with a Q&A session, where students who asked the most engaging questions were presented with gifts from the Korean Embassy.
