A new auditorium for the Media Development Agency has been inaugurated at Baku State University (BSU).

During the event, Rector Elchin Babayev highlighted the pivotal role of BSU's Faculty of Journalism in training professional journalists. He praised the success of its graduates across various media fields and emphasized the importance of combining theoretical knowledge with practical skills by involving industry professionals in the educational process.

Executive Director of the Media Development Agency, Akhmed Ismailov, underlined the agency’s commitment to creating new opportunities in journalism. He noted that fostering skilled professionals requires innovative approaches, including organizing workshops, seminars, and training courses for students.

Chairman of the Press Council, Rashad Majid, remarked that such initiatives contribute significantly to media development and the intellectual growth of the younger generation. These projects aim to enhance students’ social engagement, professional expertise, and competitiveness in the job market.

Other speakers included Jahangir Mammadli and Gulu Magerramli, Heads of Departments; Natig Mammadli, Deputy Executive Director of the Media Development Agency; Vugar Ziferoghlu, Dean of the Faculty; and Professor Akif Rustamov.

Following the ceremony, Akhmed Ismailov met with students to discuss media reforms. He elaborated on key changes introduced by the Law "On Media," such as enhancing the economic independence of media organizations and implementing tax incentives to support the sector.
