Spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Azerbaijan, Ayhan Hajizade, held a meeting with students at Baku State University (BSU).

Opening the event, Associate Professor Vugar Aliyev, Dean of the Faculty of Journalism, emphasized the growing relevance of foreign policy journalism in today's media landscape. He noted that engaging with diplomats and experts during university years is vital for future journalists, enabling them to effectively represent and defend national interests in the international information arena.

Ayhan Hajizade then delivered a comprehensive presentation on the topic "Foreign Policy Communication and Public Diplomacy." He discussed the core principles of Azerbaijan's foreign policy, communication strategies, collaboration with local and international media, the role of social media, digital diplomacy, and public diplomacy—particularly in times of crisis.

Highlighting the responsibility of both journalists and citizens, Hajizade stressed, “Regardless of profession, every individual must act in the interest of our country.”

He also introduced the MFA’s "Diplomatic Volunteers" program, encouraging students interested in pursuing careers in diplomacy to take part in this initiative.

The session concluded with an interactive Q&A segment, where students had the opportunity to engage directly with the MFA spokesperson.
