Milli Majlis Deputy Delivers Lecture at BSU on the Legacy of National Leader Heydar Aliyev
At Baku State University (BSU), Milli Majlis deputy and Professor Hikmet Babaoglu delivered a lecture titled “An Analytical Look at the Political Legacy of Heydar Aliyev from the Perspective of the New Historical Reality.”
Opening the event, Head of the Department of Humanitarian Issues and Youth Policy Ramin Samedov provided students with an overview of Professor Babaoglu’s political and academic background. He also emphasized the significance of the “Lectures of Heydar Aliyev” project in preserving and promoting the enduring legacy of the national leader.
In his speech, Professor Babaoglu underscored that national leader Heydar Aliyev was the founder of the independent Azerbaijani state, the architect of its modern legal and political systems, and the visionary behind the ideology of Azerbaijanism and national identity.
He noted that Heydar Aliyev laid the foundation of Azerbaijanism as early as 1969, during the Soviet era, shortly after his appointment as First Secretary of the Central Committee. Speaking in Azerbaijani at the 50th anniversary celebration of Baku State University, Heydar Aliyev reaffirmed the status of the Azerbaijani language, reinforcing the cultural and national identity of the people.
He concluded by noting that under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, the Republic of Azerbaijan continues to progress in accordance with the principles and values laid out by Heydar Aliyev, standing today as the strongest Azerbaijan in the history of its independence.
