Minister of Agriculture and BSU Rector Discuss Cooperation Prospects
The Minister of Agriculture, Majnun Mammadov, met with the Rector of Baku State University (BSU), Elchin Babayev, to explore avenues for cooperation between the Ministry and the University.
During the meeting, Minister Mammadov provided a comprehensive overview of the country's agricultural development strategy, emphasizing state support for the sector, the Ministry's ongoing activities, and the innovative projects currently being implemented. He highlighted that, much like other sectors of the economy, agriculture is receiving special attention, particularly in the application of advanced technologies.
Minister Mammadov underscored that the rapid development of agriculture is closely tied to the availability of professional personnel. He noted a growing demand in Azerbaijan for specialists proficient in the use of modern machinery and technologies that boost agricultural productivity. In this context, he stressed the importance of collaboration with Baku State University, which is renowned for its role in higher education and the training of highly qualified specialists.
Rector Elchin Babayev provided insights into the university's infrastructure, its role in preparing specialists for the labor market, and efforts to enhance their professional skills through scientific research. He emphasized that one of BSU’s primary goals is to train highly qualified pedagogical, engineering, and scientific professionals.
The meeting included an in-depth discussion on enhancing collaboration in the areas of human resources, scientific research, and production between the Ministry of Agriculture and BSU. Both sides expressed confidence that this partnership would significantly contribute to the advancement of Azerbaijan's agricultural sector.
