New Insights into Cotton Disease Resistance Presented at BSU Seminar
07/10/2025
A scientific seminar titled “The Role of Phytohormones in the Development of Tolerance of Cotton Genotypes to Fungal Diseases” was held at the Faculty of Biology of Baku State University (BSU).
Doctoral candidate Nurlan Amrahov presented research on how phytohormones such as salicylic acid, kinetin, and indole-3-acetic acid enhance cotton plants’ resistance to the fungus Verticillium dahliae and environmental stress. The study’s findings open new prospects for developing stress-tolerant cotton varieties and environmentally safe biostimulants.
The event concluded with scientific discussions and an exchange of views among participants.
