New Specializations Starting Soon at BSU
Starting from the 2024/2025 academic year, the Faculty of Ecology and Soil Science at Baku State University (BSU) will begin training specialists in the "Urban Cadastre" and "Environmental Engineering" specializations.
Urban cadastre involves organizing comprehensive information about the activities and conditions of a city, including its legal, natural, economic, and infrastructural aspects. The urban cadastre system provides a structure for the provision, registration, preservation, processing, analysis, collection, and placement of cadastral data.
The restoration and reconstruction of our cities in the East Zangezur and Karabakh economic regions require a new approach to urban management ("smart city," "smart transport," "green energy," etc.). Specialists in "Urban Cadastre," ecology, topography, soil science, real estate cadastre, and environmental protection will play a significant role in the reconstruction of the liberated territories. The passage of transport corridors ("One Belt, One Road") through our country, the direction of investments into the urban management system, the creation of industrial parks, and the expansion of external integration connections related to urban management also underscore the importance of training specialists in the "Urban Cadastre" field.
Graduates of the "Environmental Engineering" specialization will acquire professional competencies in environmental protection, the use of modern methods to solve environmental problems, effective technologies for analysis and processing in water purification networks, land reclamation, mathematical modeling of environmental and natural processes based on statistical data, and the construction of waste processing and disposal systems.
