North Dakota State University Professor Delivers Course at BSU
Azer Ahmadov, Professor at the Department of Mathematics of North Dakota State University (USA), has begun delivering lectures on the course “Three-dimensional Geometry and Topology” for students of the Mechanics-Mathematics and Physics faculties of Baku State University (BSU).
Professor Ahmadov’s lectures will be held three times a week over the course of one month. The aim of the course is to provide students with a systematic understanding of the fundamental concepts of modern geometry and topology, as well as the structure and symmetries of multidimensional spaces.
A graduate of the Mechanics-Mathematics Faculty of BSU (Class of 1996), Professor Ahmadov studied under the supervision of the world-renowned mathematician and laureate of the Fields Medal and Abel Prize, Grigory Alexandrovich Margulis.
The first lecture generated great interest among students and fostered extensive scientific discussions. Professor Ahmadov answered numerous questions and shared his insights on current trends in modern mathematics.
