A master class titled “Official Style in Turkish and Azerbaijani Languages in Modern Times” was held at the Faculty of Oriental Studies of Baku State University to mark Science Day.

The session was conducted by Kamala Akhmedova, Associate Professor of the Department of Turkish Philology. She presented a comparative analysis of the structural features of official style in Turkish and Azerbaijani, highlighting their phonetic, lexical, morphological, and syntactic characteristics.

The lecturer noted that official style in both languages is characterized by precision, objectivity, the use of terminology, standard expressions, and passive constructions. Examples of official written communication in Turkish—such as dilekçe, resmi yazı, tutanak, and rapor—were also discussed.

The master class also addressed the role of nonverbal communication, including gestures, tone of voice, and etiquette, in official interactions. The event concluded with a discussion among participants.
