Orientalists from Belgium visit BSU
Baku State University (BSU) has hosted a meeting with representatives of the Ghent University, Belgium. The meeting was attended by the Head of the Turkish language Department Johan Vandewalle, a specialist in Oriental languages and culture Linda Gezel, the representative of the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Kingdom of Belgium Taleha Hasanli, the Head of the International Relations Department of BSU Rauf Hasanov, the Dean of the Faculty of Oriental Studies Aidan Handan, the Deputy Dean Nigar Ismailzade, the Head of the Department Turkish Philology Rufat Rustamov, Dean of the Faculty of Philology Elchin Mammadov, Head of the Department of Turkic Studies Ramiz Asker.
Addresing to the meeting Johan Vandewalle said that the Translation Department of the Ghent University, teaches Dutch, French, German, Italian, English, Russian, Turkish and language technology. The guest stressed that this center trains interpreters and translators.
The Head of the International Relations Department of BSU Rauf Hasanov spoke about the international relations of the university, Elchin Mammadov and Aydan Khandan informed the guests about the Curriculum at the Faculties of Philology and Oriental studies.
The parties also discussed the prospects of the cooperation between BSU and Ghent University.
