Pakistani Ambassador and NUST Representatives Visit BSU
Baku State University (BSU) Rector Elchin Babayev met with the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Azerbaijan, Qasim Mohiuddin, and Ashfaque Hasan Khan, Principal at School of Social Sciences and Humanities of Pakistan’s National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST).
The meeting focused on expanding Azerbaijani–Pakistani cooperation in the fields of science, education, and culture, as well as strengthening academic and cultural ties between the two countries.
Rector Elchin Babayev highlighted the long-standing partnership between BSU and Pakistani universities, noting in particular the teaching of Urdu at BSU’s Faculty of Oriental Studies. He recalled that during his official visit to Pakistan in March 2025, BSU and NUST signed a protocol of intent on cooperation. He emphasized that mutual visits and joint projects will further strengthen the partnership between the two institutions in the near future.
Ambassador Qasim Mohiuddin underlined that relations between Azerbaijan and Pakistan are built on friendship and brotherhood, and stressed that deepening collaboration in science and education will make these ties even stronger.
Professor Ashfaque Hasan Khan, for his part, spoke about NUST, describing it as one of Pakistan’s most prestigious universities with strong expertise in fields such as artificial intelligence, data analysis, aerospace sciences, energy, and information technology.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to advancing cooperation in science, education, and culture through joint initiatives and academic exchanges.
