Perwaiz Ahmad Shahriyar, editor at National Council of Educational Research and Training under the Ministry of Education of India has delivered a lecture to BSU students entitled “Urdu language in India: history and development”.

Perwaiz Ahmad Shahriyar noted that Urdu is one of the 23 official languages of India, with about 50 million speakers in the country. Books and magazines are published in Urdu in accordance with modern requirements. He also said that Indian universities are interested in developing cooperation with BSU.
