As part of the celebration of the 150th anniversary of the national press, Baku State University (BSU) hosted a presentation ceremony for the textbook Fundamentals of Public Relations, prepared jointly by the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication (CAERC) and BSU.

The textbook, edited by CAERC Executive Director Professor Vusal Gasimli, was authored by Vugar Ziferoğlu, Aynur Nasirova, Khatira Huseynova, Parvana Ibragimova, Vafa Iskenderova, Afet Yagubova, Veli Alibekov, Edgar Jafarov, Zenura Talibova, and Natig Panahly.

Speaking at the event, Professor Vusal Gasimli emphasized that the textbook is a significant contribution to the anniversary of the national press, serving as an important teaching aid for students and a valuable resource for public relations specialists in both public and private organizations. He noted that the book comprehensively covers strategies, priorities, and tasks in the field of public relations.

BSU Rector Elchin Babayev highlighted the importance of launching such a publication on the eve of the national press anniversary, noting that BSU is the main center for journalism education in the country. He added that the Faculty of Journalism adapts its activities to modern technologies and new media requirements. From this academic year, a new specialization in “Public Relations” has been introduced at the faculty, and the textbook will serve as a strategic guide for students aiming to succeed in the information society. One of the textbook’s key strengths is its alignment of public relations theory with Azerbaijan’s national context.

The event was also attended by members of the Milli Majlis, including Head of the Department of Journalism at Baku Slavic University Vugar Rahimzade, Doctor of Political Sciences Hikmet Mammadov, Dean of the Faculty of Journalism at BSU Vugar Aliyev, Head of the Department of Multimedia and Electronic Communications Gulu Maharramli, and Deputy Director of the Marketing Department of the International Bank of Azerbaijan Edgar Jafarov.

The ceremony concluded with the screening of a video dedicated to the Fundamentals of Public Relations textbook.
