As part of the IX International Conference “Modern Trends in Physics,” Professor Fazal-e-Aleem from the University of Lahore (Pakistan) delivered a scientific seminar titled “Study of Elastic Scattering of Particles with the Extended Chou–Yang Model” for faculty members, graduate students, and doctoral students of BSU’s Faculties of Physics and Mechanics and Mathematics.

Professor Fazal-e-Aleem noted that the study of the structure and interactions of elementary particles lies at the core of modern particle physics. Since many aspects of the fundamental structure and dynamics of hadrons remain unresolved, experimental research carried out at various facilities plays an important role in refining theoretical models.

He emphasized that the extended Chou–Yang model, which incorporates anisotropic scattering, effectively explains multiple-scattering phenomena observed in high-energy particle collisions. This approach is considered a powerful method for investigating the internal structure of hadrons. In particular, applying the model to calculate the mean-square radii of protons and other hadrons using electromagnetic form factors is well justified. The theory aligns closely with both established expectations and new experimental results.

Following the presentation, participants engaged in a broad discussion, and their questions were answered.
