Professor Azer Akhmedov from the University of North Dakota, USA, conducted a scientific seminar on the topic "Lie Group Lattices" at the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics of Baku State University (BSU).

The scholar initially discussed Lie groups. He interpreted Margulis's theorems on rigidity, arithmeticity, and finiteness of these groups. Then he spoke about discrete groups without lattices in isotropic Lie groups.

The seminar concluded with a question-and-answer session.
