Project "SAP hydrogel based Smart Irrigation System" by BSU employee became the winner of Baku Water Week
The project "SAP hydrogel based Smart Irrigation System" by Ilyas Nasibov, the director of the Student Scientific and Technical Creativity Center of Baku State University (BSU), has become one of the 3 winning startups at the International Exhibition and Conference Baku Water Week.
This irrigation system operates on the principle of IoT (Internet of Things) and is designed for use in cultivated fields and greenhouses, significantly reducing water consumption. This will enable localized irrigation depending on the soil moisture level. Moreover, hydrogels applied to the soil will be able to maintain the required moisture level for the plants for an extended period.
Entrepreneurs will be able to track and control numerous parameters through a mobile application including temperature, relative humidity, CO2 content, atmospheric pressure, soil moisture level, mineral content in the soil, and photosynthetic active radiation.
