Rector of BSU Abel Maharramov received the Ambassador of Latvia

Today, the Rector of Baku State University, academician Abel Maharramov received the Ambassador of Latvia in Azerbaijan Hardys Baumanis. The Rector told the guest about the creation and development of BSU, as well as about its international relations. BSU rector said that BSU attached special importance to cooperation with Latvian Universities. He noted the possibility of implementing joint programs and projects, as well as exchange of students and teachers. Ambassador Hardys Baumanis, in turn, recalled that Azerbaijan was the first country, which congratulated the Latvia in connection with the proclamation of independence in 1921. The Ambassador expressed interest in cooperating with universities in Azerbaijan, in particular, with the BSU. He noted that Baku State University and Latvian State University had a similar story of creation.

Rector Abel Maharramov reminded that some Centers were opened at BSU and noted that Baltic Centre would be opened in the future.
It is necessary to note that the rector of the Latvian State University will visit BSU in the autumn months of this year.
