BSU Rector Elchin Babayev, briefed his colleague on the history and activities of the university. He emphasized that there are wide opportunities for cooperation with Istanbul University in the fields of biotechnology, nanotechnology, biomedical materials, computer science, social sciences, journalism, and archaeology. It was noted that joint expeditions and laboratories could be established, especially in the field of archaeology, and programs for double diplomas could be signed in preferred areas.

Osman Bulent Zulfikar, Rector of Istanbul University, also highlighted the need for joint research, exchange of faculty and students with BSU.
