Rector of Korean Hankuk University of Foreign Studies visited Baku State University

On October 4, rector of Korean Hankuk University of Foreign Studies Park Chul and Dean for International Relations Tae Yeonb Jang visited Baku State University. Rector of Baku State University, Academician and MP Abel Maharramov briefed the delegation on establishment, history of development, as well as international relations of BSU. On 20th anniversary of establishment of the diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Korea, Mr. Maharramov noted that Korea was one of those countries, who recognized Azerbaijan as an independent country. He hailed developed relations in the political, economical, cultural and other spheres between the two countries and noted that reciprocal visits of both countries` Presidents contributed to development of the cooperation. Mr. Maharramov spoke of role of Azerbaijan-Korea Information Providing Centre on development of the friendship and cooperation between the both countries and stressed importance of exchanging of researchers and doctorates, as well as joint assistance to professor and tutorial staff on specialty qualifications in the scientific sphere. Park Chul, in turn, stressed assurance on further expanding of the scientific and educational relations between the two countries. He hailed the activity of Azerbaijani and Turkish languages studies department, which the first opened in Central Asia. Park Chul also noted that Korea was interested in the exchanging of student-teacher between the two countries` Higher Schools. Abel Maharramov presented a keepsake to Rector Park Chul. The Korean delegation familiarized themselves with the activity of newly established Azerbaijan-Korea Information Providing Centre.
