Rector of Uzbekistan\'s Tashkent Institute of Chemistry and Technology visited BSU
Rector Elchin Babayev, the Rector of Baku State University (BSU), recently met with a delegation led by Botir Usmonov, the Rector of Uzbekistan's Tashkent Institute of Chemistry and Technology.
Rector Elchin Babayev highlighted the successful and dynamic cooperation between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, brother countries with a shared heritage and history, across various levels, including in education. He briefed the guests on BSU's scientific and educational activities, international relations, and its range of specialties as a 105-year-old institution. He emphasized BSU's strong collaborations with several higher education institutions in Uzbekistan, particularly in chemistry, technology, food safety, and biotechnology, which are key scientific priorities for BSU. He also mentioned that collaboration with Tashkent Institute of Chemical Technology could significantly benefit the science and education sectors of both countries.
Botir Usmonov, the Rector of Tashkent Institute of Chemistry and Technology, expressed gratitude for the warm reception and provided detailed information about his institute. He stated that his visit to Azerbaijan aimed to familiarize himself with the country's science and education landscape, highlighting that collaboration with BSU would enhance both institutions' development.
During the meeting, discussions revolved around the prospects of bilateral cooperation, opportunities for joint scientific research, the establishment of a joint laboratory, and other relevant issues.
