The leading media representatives from the Arab Republic of Egypt have visited Baku State University within the framework "Role of Media in Strengthening Islamic Solidarity" conference, which held in Baku.

Greeting the guests, rector, academician Abel Maharramov noted  that President Ilham Aliyev`s declaring 2017 as a Year of Islamic Solidarity is a historical decision. The academician told the guests about the relevant events held in our country, as well as in BSU, including the Baku 2017 Islamic Solidarity Games.

The meeting was attended by the editor-in-chief of the “Al-Watan” newspaper and the “Al-Hayat” TV network, Mahmoud Muslim, as well as the chief editors of the newspapers “Al-Wafd”  - Zeki Sadani, “Al-Ahram” - Mohammed Habib, “Al-Ahram al-Mesai” - Ela Sabit, "Al-Shuruk" - Imaduddin Hasan, "Ahbar al-Yaum" - Rufat Fayyad . They spoke about the contribution of Azerbaijani and  Egyptian scientists and  journalists in strengthening of Islamic solidarity.

It should be noted that the conference “Role of media in strengthening Islamic solidarity” was co-organized by the Journalists Association of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) member states and International Eurasia Press Fund (IEPF).
