Representatives of the Global Energy Interconnection Development and Cooperation Organization Visit BSU
Baku State University (BSU) hosted a delegation from the Global Energy Interconnection Development and Cooperation Organization (GEIDCO) of the People’s Republic of China (PRC).
The meeting was attended by BSU Vice-Rector Shahin Panakhov, Rector's Advisor Asiman Ilyasov, Head of the International Relations Department Rauf Hasanov, as well as senior representatives from GEIDCO, including Deputy Director Hu Ming, General Manager of the Cooperation Department Yu Kaifeng, General Manager of the Membership Department Gao Ming, Senior Researcher of the Institute of Economics and Technology Gao Zhao, Director of the Eastern Europe and Central Asia Office Hupeng Zhen, and office staff member Zhou Pengzhao.
During the meeting, the guests were provided with a comprehensive overview of BSU’s history, academic structure, educational programs, and research initiatives.
Representatives of GEIDCO presented the organization’s mission and core activities, emphasizing its commitment to promoting sustainable development in the global energy sector. They highlighted the organization’s efforts to meet worldwide energy needs through clean and environmentally friendly alternatives, in line with the UN’s “Sustainable Energy for All” and “Climate Action” initiatives.
The two sides also discussed opportunities for future collaboration and joint projects aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
It is worth noting that GEIDCO currently has 1,346 members across 142 countries, including seven regional offices, 72 national representative offices, and six regional committees.
