Republican conference "Libraries of Karabakh: history, present and future" held at BSU
Baku State University (BSU) has hosted a Republican scientific conference on “Libraries of Karabakh: history, present and future”, organized by the Library and Information Faculty.
The event was moderated by BSU Vice-Rector Alish Agamirzaev.
As a result of Armenia's military aggression, the library infrastructure in Karabakh has been completely destroyed. Millions of books and documents were destroyed by Armenia, BSU Vice-Rector Alish Agamirzaev said when addressing the event.
Director of BSU Scientific Library Nigar Ismayilova, Director of the ADA University Library Elchin Mammadov, Deputy Director of the National Library of Azerbaijan Adiba Ismayilova, Director of the Firudin bey Kocharli Republican Children's Library Shahla Gambarova, Director of the Library and Information Center of the Azerbaijan State Economic University Adilya Abdullayeva spoke at the plenary session of the conference.
Then the Head of the Department of Bibliography of Baku State University Nadir Ismailov made a presentation entitled “Libraries of Karabakh: current state and future”, PhD student of the Library and Information faculty, citizen of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria Lemounes Nour El Houd Dzhouman made a presentation entitled “Karabakh libraries and Armenian vandalism”.
