The Republican scientific and practical conference dedicated to the 110th anniversary of the outstanding writer, literary critic and teacher Mir Jalal Pashayev was held at  Baku State University (BSU). The event was attended by well-known statesmen and scientists, university lecturers and students.

Opening the event, rector, academician Abel Maharramov provided an insight into the life, literary works and pedagogical activity of Mir Jalal. Highlighting Mir Jalal's literary legacy, academician Abel Maharramov pointed out that Mir Jalal is remembered for his originality, for the depth of his vision, humanity and memorable characters that he created.

The Minister of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, hailing Mir Jalal's tremendous contributions to the development of Azerbaijani literature, scholarship and education, stressed that Mir Jalal devoted all his life to teaching and writing.

Other officials also addressed the event, including academician Nizami Jafarov, rector of Baku Slavic University, professor Nurlana Aliyeva, Dean of the Philology Faculty, associated professor Elchin Mamedov.

Rector of the University of ADA, Professor Hafiz Pashayev spoke on behalf of the writer's family and expressed gratitude to the organizers and participants of the event.
