Results of the Qualifying Round of the V Azerbaijan Astronomy Olympiad Announced
The qualifying round of the V Azerbaijan Astronomy Olympiad for students in grades 9–11 took place on February 1. Approximately 1,200 students registered to participate in the online competition.
According to the decision of the organizing committee, students who scored 75 or more out of a possible 100 points have qualified for the final stage of the Olympiad.
Additional details for students advancing to the final, which will be held at Baku State University, will be provided in the coming days.
The winners of the final round will participate in preparatory classes for the XVIII International Olympiad in Astronomy and Astrophysics, set to take place in India from August 11 to 21. These training sessions will be organized by the Republican Center for the Development of Children and Youth. Additionally, the Public Association "Society of Amateur Astronomers" will conduct workshops on telescope usage for students.
The V Azerbaijan Astronomy Olympiad and the XVIII International Olympiad in Astronomy and Astrophysics are being held with the general sponsorship of the Tusi-Bom Planetarium. The Azerbaijani team’s participation in the International Astronomy and Astrophysics Olympiad is also supported by the Institute of Education.
