Baku State University (BSU) and the Space Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (Azercosmos) jointly organized the Republican scientific-practical conference “XXI century: Geospatial data and space information infrastructure. Innovations, ways of their effective use”. The conference is dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the formation of the Department of Geodesy and Cartography of the Faculty of Baku State University.

Farda Imanov, Vice-Rector for Organization and Education Technologies, BSU and Meksed Gojamanov, Head of the Department of Geodesy and Cartography made presentations on the history of the Department of Geodesy and Cartography.

Director of the State Agency for Geodesy and Cartography under the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources Nazim Ismayilov spoke on the topic “Innovations in the creation of geospatial data infrastructure in Azerbaijan”.

Elman Aleskerov, Leading Specialist of the Center for Geographical Information Systems of the Space Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (Azercosmos) made a presentation on the topic “Ways for the effective use of space information. Technical Capabilities of Azerkosmos OJSC”.

Then the General Director of the Institute of Geography of the Ministry of Science and Education Zakir Mammadov, Academician Garib Mammadov made speech at the conference.
