Seminar on the Legal Protection of the Constitution Held at BSU
The Faculty of Law at Baku State University (BSU) hosted a scientific seminar entitled “The Circle of Entities Participating in the Legal Protection of the Constitution,” dedicated to March 27 – Science Day.
The seminar featured a presentation by Doctor of Law Nasib Shukurov. In his paper, he emphasized the regulatory and restrictive functions of the Constitution within political and legal society, noting that the adoption of a constitution reflects the will of the people and formalizes existing social relations into binding legal norms.
The speaker highlighted that the legal protection of the Constitution is closely linked to the development of effective mechanisms for safeguarding social relations. In this context, he underlined the importance of constitutional provisions that ensure the protection and sustainability of these relations, as well as the stable and effective functioning of the constitutional system.
It was further noted that the protection of the Constitution is not confined to the norms set forth in its text, but also requires the establishment of a comprehensive institutional framework. This framework encompasses constitutional oversight bodies, courts, legislative and executive authorities, and civil society institutions.
The seminar concluded with discussions and a question-and-answer session involving participants.
