Seminar on the Use of the DSpace Platform Held at BSU
A scientific seminar titled “Potential Applications of the DSpace Platform in Research and Academic Content Management: Using the ADA University Library as an Example” was held at the Faculty of Information and Document Management of Baku State University (BSU).
At the event, Aziza Dzhabieva, a master’s student in the Department of Document Management, presented a paper highlighting the key features and advantages of the DSpace academic platform, as well as issues related to academic content exchange in an open scientific environment and copyright protection.
Drawing on the experience of the ADA University Library, the speaker discussed projects involving the use of the DSpace platform and mechanisms for safeguarding digital academic resources. She emphasized that the platform enables the storage of faculty and student research papers in an electronic environment, ensuring their accessibility for open scholarly exchange.
The presentation also covered the platform’s technical capabilities, information security, and its potential for implementation in higher education institutions.
During the seminar, participants discussed the prospects for adopting the DSpace platform across universities, issues of information security and intellectual property protection, and opportunities for international collaboration.
