Son of the leader of the Cuban revolution, Fidel Castro Diaz-Balart visited Baku State University

The eldest son of the famous Comandante Fidel Castro, the scienctific adviser of the President Republic of Cuba, Fidel Castro Diaz-Balart arrived in Baku at the invitation of President of Azerbaijan Academy of Sciences. Fidel Castro Diaz-Balart visited Baku State University and met with the rector, academician Abel Maharramov. He noted that the Cuba was interested in cooperation in the field of natural sciences, in particular, in preparation for graduate and doctoral students.

Rector of BSU, academician Abel Maharramov said that the Azerbaijani people always referred to Cuba with great sympathy and BSU would be glad to cooperate in the field of education and science. Rector noted that Azerbaijan and Cuba had the same scientific school  and so this collaboration promised to be fruitful.
Guests from Cuba paid special attention to the achievements of  BSU in nanotechnology. According to Fidel Castro Diaz-Balart, Cuba can not remain aloof from global trends in nanotechnology. The Cuban delegation visited the Nano Research Center and Research laboratories of various departments of BSU.
