Sustainable Management of Biodiversity, South Caucasus

Within the frame of “Sustainable Management of Biodiversity, South Caucasus” Programme GIZ cooperating with Baku State University. Cooperation includes supporting of newly founded Faculty Ecology and Soil Sciences with different projects and with development of MsC curriculum according to the international standards for the department of Bioecology.

Initially in February experts from Germany were invited to Baku and first meeting was held with working group at Baku State University. As a next step delegation from Azerbaijan is in Germany now starting from the 9th of March. Reason of the visit includes the discussion of curriculum with the experts from Michael Succow Foundation, getting acknowledged with the technical and scientific recourses of Greifswald University and sharing of experiences with the lectures and professors.

Delegation visited the Berlin Natural Museum and the Jasmund National Park that is situated at the biggest Iceland of Germany and got information about nature and all other interesting features of the area.

On 13th of March delegation visited the vice-rector of and head of department of international relations of the Greifswald University and discussed with them about the future possibilities for the student exchange and other cooperation fields between two Universities.

At the time being delegation is discussing the details of curriculum such as modules, methods, field practices and others.

Study tour is finishing on 15th of March.
