The opening ceremony of the 3rd EMIDWORLD International Conference on Economics, Public Finance, Business, and Social Sciences, jointly organized by Baku State University (BSU) and Kilis 7 Aralık University (Türkiye), took place at BSU.

The event began with the playing of the national anthems of Azerbaijan and Türkiye, followed by a moment of silence in honor of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for Azerbaijan’s independence and the servicemen who perished in the crash of the Turkish Air Force transport aircraft.

In his opening remarks, BSU Vice-Rector Shahin Panahov emphasized that the cooperation between Baku State University and Kilis 7 Aralık University not only strengthens academic ties but also reflects the strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Türkiye in the fields of science and education.

Other speakers at the opening ceremony included Ali Kestane, Chairman of the Organizing Committee; Güven Çolak, Representative of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) in Azerbaijan; Erhan Ufak, Rector of the Turkish Academy of Arts; Suat Önal, Member of the Turkish Grand National Assembly; Mehmet Hasan Eken, Director of the Turkish Foundation for Economic and Financial Research (TEMAR); and Cengiz Aygör, Director of the Azerbaijan Office of the International Democratic Unity (UID).

The conference has brought together academics, researchers, and representatives of government and business sectors from 33 countries. Participants are presenting and discussing research papers in areas such as economics, public finance, business management, international trade and finance, labor economics, logistics, tourism management, and management information systems.

The conference continues its work through a series of thematic sessions.
