The memo of mutual understanding signed between UNESCO and the Baku State University was presented at the University.

On 14 December,  the memo of mutual understanding signed between UNESCO and the Baku State University was presented at the University. In line with the document, the Baku State University applies trainings courses on UNESCO bioethics and this organization will extend necessary aid to the university in this direction.  Speaking in the ceremony, rector of the Baku State University, academician Abel Meherremov stressed the importance of developing bioethics in Azerbaijan and especially noted the contribution of the president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, UNESCO and ISESCO goodwill ambassador Mehriban Aliyeva in this sphere. The first secretary of the UNESCO National Commission in Azerbaijan Gunay Efendiyeva also stressed Mehriban Aliyeva's contribution. For effective implementation of the indicated memo, the Baku State University signed a memo of mutual understanding with the Institute of Human Rights of the National Academy of Science of Azerbaijan.  This document, among all, features cooperation in the sphere of bioethics and medical rights. Under the memo of mutual understanding, the subject of Bioethics is introduced to the curriculum of the Baku State University for 2011-2014.
