The Second Day of Sustainable Development Goals Week at BSU: Health and Well-being
As part of the second day of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Week at Baku State University (BSU), an event focusing on the goal of "Health and Well-being" was held at the Baku Health Center (BHC).
During the event, Asiman Hasanov, Executive Director of the BHC, discussed the ongoing healthcare reforms in Azerbaijan. He emphasized that health and well-being, as key components of the SDGs, are prioritized in national state programs. A notable example of this progress is the extensive renovations of existing medical centers and the opening of new facilities. Regarding the BHC, Hasanov highlighted that the center spans 50,000 square meters and is equipped with 550 beds, offering comprehensive examination and treatment services.
Zohrab Javadzade, Chairman of the BSU Student Trade Union Committee, addressed the government's efforts to safeguard young people's health rights. He noted that the successful implementation of these goals is supported by key legislation, including the "Public Health Protection" and "Youth Policy" laws.
