Turkish astronaut Tuva Cihangir Atasever visited Baku State University (BSU) and met with the university’s students.

BSU Rector Elchin Babayev emphasized that meetings between students and world-renowned figures who have achieved success in various fields of science serve as a strong source of motivation. He thanked Tuva Cihangir Atasever for accepting the invitation to meet with students and noted that this event would take its place in the university’s history. The Rector also highlighted that Atasever’s mother is Azerbaijani and that the astronaut has great affection for Azerbaijan and the entire Turkic world.

A video presentation about Türkiye’s achievements in space exploration and Atasever’s space missions was screened during the event.

In his remarks, the distinguished astronaut spoke about the main goals and strategic priorities of Türkiye’s space program, the progress of preparations for space missions, and shared his personal impressions from spaceflight. He noted that during his mission, he conducted important experiments on human biology and physiology in microgravity, studying how space conditions affect the human body. Atasever expressed confidence that the findings of these experiments will contribute to the treatment of several diseases in the future. He also underlined the importance of cooperation between Türkiye and Azerbaijan in the space sector.

During the interactive session with students, Tuva Cihangir Atasever answered their questions and presented them with autographed photographs.

At the conclusion of the event, the astronaut was presented with a letter of gratitude for his inspiring lecture to BSU students.
