Turkish professor delivered lecture to BSU students

Professor Alpaslan Demir, Head of the Department of History at Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University in Türkiye delivered lecture on the topic 'History of Ottoman Resettlement and Vanished Villages' to students of the Historical Faculty at BSU.
Alpaslan Demir presented information about the project 'Vanished Villages,' funded by the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye (TÜBİTAK). He explained that the project involved research on vanished villages associated with the cities of Konya, Manisa, and Sivas. Overall, it was established that 50-60% of villages had disappeared from the geography of Türkiye. The lecture provided detailed information about the causes and consequences of this issue.
