15/08/2024

The projects of two student teams from Baku State University (BSU) have reached the final stage of the Aerospace Technology and Innovation Festival "TEKNOFEST-2024."

The project "Irrigo" by the BSU team "BSU Creativity Workz" made it to the final in the "Agricultural Technologies" category. This system, based on Internet of Things (IoT) technology, allows for remote monitoring of agricultural lands, fields, and greenhouses. More than 20 field parameters (soil moisture, UV radiation levels, temperature, soil salinity, pH levels, CO2 levels, fertilizer amounts, etc.) can be tracked in real-time via a mobile application. Thanks to this system, entrepreneurs will also be able to remotely control these parameters.

The main goal of the "Electronic Agricultural Irrigation" project by the "ESST-6" team, which also made it to the final of "TEKNOFEST-2024," is to create an affordable and high-quality smart irrigation technology and study its practical application. Such intelligent irrigation systems provide plants with the necessary amount of water while minimizing water loss and efficiently managing its consumption.
