As part of the Days of Uzbekistan Science and Culture, a meeting involving the Uzbek delegation and the academic community took place at Baku State University (BSU).

Addressing the meeting, Rector of the university Elchin Babayev highlighted the robust relations between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan. He provided an overview of the university’s activities, international collaborations, and achievements, noting that Baku State University cooperates with over 150 universities across more than 40 countries. He also stressed the importance of expanding cooperation between BSU and universities in Uzbekistan.

Uzbekistan`s Ambassador to Azerbaijan Bahrom Ashrafkhanov lauded the successful development of scientific, educational and cultural ties between the two countries.

President of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, academician Isa Habibbayli provided insight into the historical unity and literary connections between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan.

The head of the delegation, the First Deputy Chairman of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan, Academician Akmal Saidov, congratulated the Azerbaijani people on the full restoration of Azerbaijan's sovereignty. The guest also emphasized the necessity of closer cooperation in the scientific field.

Executive Director of the Friendship Society "Uzbekistan-Azerbaijan," Professor at Nizami Erkin Nurdinov Tashkent Pedagogical Institute, Director of the Mirzo Ulugbek Astronomical Institute of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan, Academician Shukhrat Egamberdiev, Rector of Nizami Erkin Nurdinov Tashkent Pedagogical Institute, Professor Abdulgafor Kirgizbaev, Head of the International Relations Department at the State Agency for Science and Higher Education, Mujdat Gasanov, Head of the Turkological Research Laboratory at the Philological Faculty of BSU, Ramiz Askerov, and Associate Professor of the History of Turkic Peoples Department at the Historical Faculty, Sanubar Ismayilova attended the event.
