Uzbek Scholar Delivers Lecture to BSU Students

Associate Professor Bekzod Baratbaev of Kokand State University (Uzbekistan) delivered a lecture at the Faculty of Information and Document Management at Baku State University (BSU) on the topic “Training of Personnel in Library Science and Information Activities: Problems and Prospects.”

In his presentation, Dr. Baratbaev provided students with in-depth insights into the traditions and development trends of book, library, and bibliographic culture in Uzbekistan. He outlined the historical stages of this field’s evolution and highlighted current challenges. The lecture explored key trends in the formation and advancement of library and information science education, introducing new paradigms and offering a comparative analysis of the Azerbaijani and Uzbek approaches.

Dr. Baratbaev emphasized that education in this field in both countries is undergoing restructuring in response to new technologies, digital transformation, and the integration of information services. The lecture also addressed significant topics such as international trends in personnel training, global best practices, models of inter-university cooperation, and the implementation of joint projects.

The session concluded with a Q&A, during which students' questions were addressed in detail.
