Women chemists held a round table at BSU
Today the round table of Azerbaijani women chemists on the issue of problems’ and perspectives’ within “International Year of Chemistry” was held at BSU by the initiative of the State Committee for Family, Woman and Children Affairs. The Rector academician Abel Maharramov, opening the event, spoke about the importance of announcing 2011 by UNESCO as “Year of Chemistry”. Paying attention to the activities of participating chemists in this branch, the Rector mentioned a particular role of women in socio-political, scientific and other spheres.
Then, the chairman of the State Committee for Family, Woman and Children Affairs Hijran Huseynova in her speech pointed the round table devoting to the role of women in the sphere of Chemistry in Azerbaijan. By the words of the chairman it was mentioned that as the logical continuation of the state policy founded by the National Leader Heydar Aliyev there were created wide opportunities for women to act in all branches, and nowadays the new steps are taken in this direction by the President Ilham Aliyev. Hijran Huseynova also mentioned that the attention of the first lady of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva to women problems and their role in social activities is worth to be taken as an example for the whole society.
