SHORT BIBLIOGRAPHIC INFORMATION

Born on April 14, 1952 in Gakh.

In 1969-1974 he studied at Faculty of Geology-Geography of Azerbaijan State University.

In 1974-1976 with state assignment he worked as a teacher at secondary school in Guba.

In 1977 (January-July) he worked as an engineer at Azerbaijan State University.

From September 1977 to May 1978 - he worked as an engineer at the Institute of Geography of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

From 1978 to 1981 he was a PhD student at the Department of “Economic and Social Geography” of the Faculty of Geology-Geography of Baku State University.

In 1983 he defended PhD thesis on “Geographical problems of oil-gas complex in Azerbaijan”.

In 2004 he defended his doctoral dissertation on “The main problems of territorial organization of oil and gas complex in the Caspian region” and in 2010 he received the title of professor.

In 1977-2014 he worked as an assistant, senior lecturer, associate professor and professor at the Department of “Economic and Social Geography” of BSU.

In 1980-1989 he was a Chairman of the Young Scientists Council of Baku State University.

In 1997-1999 he worked as a deputy dean for science and master's degree at the Faculty of  Geography of Baku State University.

In 1998-2014 he was the Head of the Scientific-Research Center Khazar at BSU.

In 2014-2015 he was the head of the Department of “Planning and Management of the Sustainable Development” of the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

In 2015-2017 he was the dean of the Faculty of Administration at the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

In 2017-2018 he was the head of the Department of “Planning and Management of the Sustainable Development” of the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

From September, 2018 - till nowadays he is working as an Advisor of the Rector for International Relations at Baku State University.

In 2001 he have been awarded the title of Professor of the Kazakh Institute of Oil and Gas.

In 2006 he have been awarded the Badge of the Ministry of Science and Education of Kazakhstan.

For the successful scientific report at the International Conference held at RUDN University in 2014 he have been awarded with a Badge “Lomonosov 300”.

Since 2001 he is the coordinator of the Association of Caspian Sea Universities.

From 2003 till 2014 he was an executive secretary of the International journal “Caspian Sea. Natural Resources” published in English.  He is a member of the editorial board of the scientific journals published in English in Russia, Iran and Kazakhstan.

Since 2011 he is a member of the Editorial Board of the journal “Geopolitics”.

His scientific activity is mainly related to the analysis of geopolitical, economic, economical-geographical and ecological issues of the Caspian region. He is a member and expert of many international organizations.

He was the coordinator and participant of more than 30 international projects in the field of economy, politics and ecology (funded by NATO, World Bank, Islamic Development Bank, Conrad Adenauer Foundation, Max Plank Institute, International Geographical Union, Regional Environmental Program (EU) and other organizations).

In the grant contest held by the Science Foundation under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in 2015, the project entitled “Improvement of Human Capacity for Sustainable Development: Azerbaijani Model” submitted by Ismayilov was selected and implemented (60,000 manats).

Chingiz Ismayilov is the author of more than 200 scientific publications, including 15 books, 3 monographs and 3 textbooks. He has participated in more than 90 international congresses, symposiums and conferences and has published more than 80 scientific works in foreign countries.

Under his supervision were written more than 30 master's works, 1 post-doctoral and 3 PhD have been prepared.

In 2005-2010 he was a member of the Council for the Defense of the dissertation works at the Institute of Geography of ANAS.

In 2011-2013 he was a member of the Expert Council on Economy in High Attestation Commission under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

From 2015 to present he is a member of the Council of Defense of dissertations at the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

In 2015 (January-June), he was the coordinator and head of expert and training programs of the project “Ensuring the public security” in Baku European Games 2015.

He was the coordinator of the “Exit-poll” project (jointly with “A.Finkelstein” organization, USA) in the elections to Milli Majlis in 2015 and the Presidential elections in Azerbaijan in 2018.

Since 2004 he is the head of the NGO “Regional Development Center in Azerbaijan”.

At the same time prof. Chingiz Ismayilov is a member and expert of the following international organizations in the field of Economics, Geography, Politics and Ecology:

-          National Geoqraphic Society (USA);

Participation and management of the projects in recent years:

• Coordinator of the Exit-poll research project conducted in April, 2018 together with the Citizens' Labor Rights Protection League and “Arthur Finkelstein and Association”, USA during the Presidential Elections in Azerbaijan.
• Coordinator of the Exit-poll research project conducted in September, 2016 together with the Citizens' Labor Rights Protection League and “Arthur Finkelstein and Association”, USA, during the referendum “on amendments to the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan”.
• Coordinator of the project on “Ensuring the public security” in Baku European Games 2015.
